This is an educational program designed for college students who are interested in pursuing a career in journalism, broadcasting or production. Each student is selected and assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

What are the duties?
Log tapes, coordinate script, research stories, conduct preliminary interviews, assist during shoots, select footage, perform light clerical duties and assist staff members. *Duties vary in each department

What are the requirements?
Students who are currently attending an accredited college and have achieved junior status are eligible. Students majoring in journalism, broadcasting or communications are preferred; other majors will be considered. Participants must have good computer skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities and knowledge of current events. A 3.0 GPA or above is recommended. Students must be able to meet the minimum time commitment. This is an unpaid internship. Student must get credit.

What is a letter of credit?
A letter written by an advisor on school letterhead that confirms the student will receive credit for the internship. This documentation must be on file prior to start date.

When is the deadline?
Fall and spring applicants are accepted on a rolling basis. The summer program selects and assigns students on a first-come, first-served basis; summer applications will not be accepted after February 28 of each year. The number of positions varies for each semester.

Due to the high volume of applicants, the office cannot respond to application-status inquiries; completed application packets are reviewed and qualified students are contacted directly.
